Yankee Candle’s Flagship Store, It features all available Yankee Candles as well as kitchen and home accessories, New England crafts, gifts and collectibles, a toy shop, picnic grounds and a “Bavarian Christmas Village” filled with decorated Christmas trees and a toy train that runs through to Santa’s Workshop, where animated elves and an ‘assembly line’ for wooden vehicles surround Santa Claus’s desk. Visitors can dip their own candles in a specially equipped area, make wax molds of their hands, or create their own unique candle. There is also a candle making museum and a Hillside Pizza cafe on site. The store was a beautiful place for a child to visit, where they could make their own candles.

Our popular Santa Express Trains depart Hobo Junction Station at 1:00pm beginning the Friday after Thanksgiving, and operate weekends through mid-December. All Santa Express Trains are approximately one hour and twenty minutes in length (80 minutes) and return to where they started, to Hobo Junction Station in Lincoln, NH.
We offer Coach Class & First Class seating on all of our Santa Express Trains. The only difference between Coach Class Seating and First Class seating is that First Class seating is at tables, while Coach Class seating is bench-style seating without tables. Whale Watching

Experience one of the best whale-sighting destinations in the world on this guided, 4-hour whale-watching cruise around the Stellwagen Bank National Marine Sanctuary. Hop on a high-speed catamaran that gets to and from the whales in the least amount of time possible. See humpback and fin whales, plus Atlantic white-sided dolphins and harbour porpoises with the help of a naturalist guide. The on-board galley offers hot meals, snacks and beverages for purchase during the trip.

Fall Foliage Special Turkey Buffet
at the Common Man Inn and a Guided Tour
Our popular 4-hour Fall Foliage Specials depart Meredith Station at 11:00am and proceed north where we’ll travel up and over Ashland Summit. We’ll then cross the Ashland High Trestle, pass through the Bonnie Brae Deer Farm and the Glove Hollow Christmas Tree Farm in Bridgewater before arriving in Plymouth, NH.
The Common Man Inn & Spa, located in Plymouth’s North End is our destination. Once there, we’ll step off the train and gather in the dining room to enjoy a tasty, hot buffet lunch. Following lunch, you’re welcome to explore the Common Man Inn’s extensive Gift Shop which is filled with NH-made products before returning to the train.
Hot Buffet Menu (items subject to change): Hot Soup, Roast Turkey, Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes, Gravy, Cranberry Sauce, Butternut Squash; Meat Lasagna; Vegi Stir Fry & Rolls & Butter. An assortment of fresh baked cookies will be on each table for dessert. A variety of chilled, bottled soft drinks & water as well as hot tea & coffee will also be available.
When lunch is over, we’ll depart the Common Man Inn & Spa and proceed south through Plymouth and Bridgewater again before stopping in Ashland, NH at the restored Boston, Concord & Montreal Railroad Station. Upon arrival, members of the Ashland Historical Society, dressed in 1860’s attire, will greet us and provide guided tours of their historic station.
Following the guided tours in Ashland, we’ll re-board the train for the final time, then continue south over Ashland Summit, pass Lake Waukewan and make our way to Meredith Station where we’ll arrive just after 3:00pm.

Your round-trip excursion departs Meredith Station and travels south along the western shore of Lake Winnipesaukee though Weirs Beach and Paugus Bay towards Lakeport, NH and back along the very same route.

Fryeburg Fair, Maine’s Blue Ribbon Classic
Maine’s largest agricultural fair second in New England in size only to Eastern States in Massachusetts. Today Fryeburg Fair sits on 185 acres and has over 100 buildings. The eight-day fair hosts over 3,000 animals including prize-winning draft horses, ponies, racing horses, oxen, dairy & beef cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, poultry, rabbits and much more. Maine’s Blue Ribbon Classic is always during the first week in October.

350+ Art, Craft & Specialty Food American Artisans come together once a year for 3 days only! Shoppers will go on a giant treasure hunt to find unique holiday gifts for loved ones while also tucking away a goodie or two for themselves.
The array of handmade products includes stunning jewelry, seasonal decorations, photography, distinctive home accessories, spa products, children’s toys and clothes, pet specialties, gifts for the sports minded, specialty foods, personalized gifts and much, much more. These are items that will not be found on store shelves, but rather cater to those looking for “something more.” There is something for everyone, and in all price ranges.
After you have shopped Christmas Festival, head into the Mohegan Sun Casino, Boasting two unique casinos, Mohegan Sun is also host to the Kids Quest/Cyber Quest family entertainment facility to play the games .
